Julia & Jacob’s Story

Julia & Jacob’s love story started with a casual first date at Chipotle. Something stuck that day, and they recalled to me how they couldn’t stop laughing. After the date, they kept that spark alive and created a beautiful love story together. They’ve gone on many adventures over the years, overcome a long distance period, and grown closer each day. Four years later, they decided to officially tie the knot. It was such a joy to celebrate their love, journey, and exciting future together.

While every moment of their day was beautiful, I’ve highlighted two of my favorite parts: the getting-ready photos and the private vows. There are some additional highlights at the end of this post as well!

Getting Ready Photos

We started the day at an Airbnb with Julia, the bridesmaids, and Julia’s mom. While everyone got ready, I started to get my first detail shots of the day. As someone detail-oriented, these sweet in-between moments are some of my favorite.

The morning of the wedding day helps set the tone for the entire day, so ensuring you have plenty of time makes for a calm and enjoyable experience. Plus, you can party extra hard with your bridesmaids! I promise it is so worth it.

Tip: There is a guideline for wedding days called the 5-30 rule. For something that takes you 5 minutes on a normal day, plan on giving yourself 30 minutes to complete the task on the wedding day. If you hire a makeup or hair stylist, they will have precise time tables for their services as well.

The First Look & Private Vows

These are my favorite first look photos to date because their reactions say it all. The embraces, the laughter, the tears. This is a moment that sparks emotions that you truly can’t recreate. Seeing each other in your wedding attire for the first time is a magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Expressing your deepest feelings and most genuine vows to each other makes it all the more priceless.

Tip: For couples wanting to save the magic for walking down the aisle, I highly recommend doing a first touch. I’ll help coordinate so that you are both out of each other’s sight, and then you can enjoy an intimate moment with the love of your life. Hearing each other’s voices and soaking in the moment together will ground you. You’ll be reminded just how special and exciting the rest of your day (and love story throughout life) will be. Sound amazing?

Other Highlights

Here are just a few more favorites from Julia & Jacob’s magical day. While I am a sucker for the sweet, sentimental moments, I also love capturing all the hype and celebratory vibes. Let’s capture it all.
